La parte alta fue ocupada en el siglo V a. C. por un grupo reducido de tartesios que llamaron al lugar *Saippo con el t\u00edpico formante meridional *-ippo \u00abciudad\u00bb. La uni\u00f3n de ambos nombres en alg\u00fan momento sin determinar es lo que ha configurado definitivamente el top\u00f3nimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color\"><strong>Palabras clave<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sep\u00falveda, Segovia, Tartesios, indoeuropeo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color\"><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We try to show in this lines that the place name Sep\u00falveda is a creation of two different peoples. Indoeuropean pre-celtic established in the middle stretch of the river Durat\u00f3n named the lower: *durbeda \u00abthe moat or channel of the river\u00bb. The top was occupied in the fifth century B.C. by a small group of people from Tartessos they called the place *Saippo with typical southern formant *-ippo \u00abcity\u00bb.
